D-Now 2012

This weekend we hosted our youth girls from church all weekend. This weekend is called D-Now (Disciple Now). There are lots of fun things that are planned for the weekend, but also lots of opportunities for them to focus, learn and grow in their relationship with the Lord. Here we are this morning before we left to go to church. Kylee didn't want to participate with her "cheese" so this is the best picture we have.
By the way, Kylee LOVED all these girls in our house all weekend. She wanted to spend every minute with them. You wouldn't be able to tell by this picture, but she really did enjoy having them all here.

Birthday Celebrations

Last Wednesday we were playing a little game and Kolton showed his excitement as well. We thought it was cute watching him respond and yell at Kylee for almost hitting him with a toy. Excuse Kylee's before bed time dress as she runs into the camera.

Last Tuesday Kylee went to her first dental check up and was such a BIG GIRL. They were so gentle and kind to her.

On Thursday Will turned 31 years old!! What an OLD MAN! :-) We enjoyed our evening together out to dinner and ice cream cake for dessert. Thursday before we went out to dinner for Will's birthday Kylee and Kolton shared their first bath.

On Saturday, Kolton turned 8 months old! WOW...NO WAY!!! He is developing his own little personality and so fun to play with. He is still not crawling, however when on his belly he will stretch and turn in circles and push himself backward. Not on all fours yet, but I think he will be like Kylee and army crawl first. He is able to roll around everywhere and sit up on his own. Still sleeping good at night. Going to bed around 6:30-7:00 and waking between 6:30 and 7:00. He takes either 3 shorter naps a day or 2 longer naps. Sometimes it depends on if he got that morning nap in or not. Saturday and Sunday's he usually sleeps 2 - 2.5 hours in the afternoon because we are not always on schedule. This past weekend he finally laughed on camera at Kylee while we were playing outside with the hula hoop. It was so cute, but he doesn't want to show us again! See the video on facebook if you have not seen it already. I think we are overcoming the gagging and texture eating issues. He has nibbled on a few table foods and done okay, tonight he had a few small pieces of cooked carrot. He still has not mastered how to pick up puffs or small pieces of table food and get them to his mouth, however he is VERY CLOSE. His OT Mommy is stressing that goal!!! I give it another few days to a week and I think he will have that skill down. He can however get the Baby Mum Mums (kind of like a dissolvable rice cake) to his mouth and DEVOUR them. Tonight was his first one and I watched him nibble a few bites to make sure he could handle it okay and then I turned around to do something, came back to find half of it was GONE. I started looking on the sides of the high chair and all on the floor and it was no where to be found. He had already eaten it. Just like Daddy! He is like sissy in some ways too when he gets excited he shakes his arms and fingers and he has now starting the smacking of his lips together like he is chewing, just like Kylee did. Can't wait to get that on camera to share. I think her old video on her smacking her lips is posted on here from a few years ago.

Fishing & Yard Upgrade

Saturday morning Kylee had a soccer game then we came home to yard work and a little bit of fishing. No luck on the fishing, but Kylee and Daddy enjoyed trying.
I can't wait for Kylee to explain what she was doing here...

No luck, but they both enjoyed themselves

Look at this HAPPY BOY! You see those things popping out of his bottom gum????
(FYI: You can click on the picture to make it bigger.)

His favorite way to greet you...Stick out his tongue and spit.

"What cha' going to do about my spitting Momma?"
Last week we had some yard upgrades. Our previous tree kicked the bucket so we had a new tree planted and some bushes. On Saturday, we worked on washing porches, chairs, trimming bushes and planting other trees. Here is our finished product.

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail....

Look at these beautiful chlidren with Mr. Peter Cotton Tail!!!!
Kylee was so excited to get to see the Easter Bunny. She didn't know we were going to see him until she laid eyes on him! When Kolton got on his lap all he wanted to do was look at him. We finally got his attention to atleast look at the camera.

Kylee's 2nd favorite part of the day was getting to ride the truck and school bus. Kolton also enjoyed it too!
